Birthday Cake

We love the beach so much. It is one of our favorite places to visit, and while on vacation we bought a palm tree cookie cutter and we wanted to use it for something. So, for our birthday we were going to make this cake and decided to put the palm trees on the top.  

We decorated it with fondant. We bought the black and white fondant, but colored the white fondant purple so that it wouldn't be a perfectly smooth color. For the palm trees we just used the cookie cutter on the rolled out black fondant. 

Beehive Cake

A woman that we know raises bees and sells their honey. She loves bees and knows everything about them. So, for her birthday we made and decorated this beehive cake for her. She loved the cake!

We made the bees out of fondant and stuck them onto the cake with toothpicks. This picture doesn't show all of what is written on the cake. It says Happy Bee-Day! :)

Firework Cupcakes

One of the best things about the Fourth of July is fireworks, right? Well the best thing about these cupcakes is that they look like mini fireworks that you can eat!

To decorate these we used a grass tip. Then we started in the middle and moved out, simply creating a circle with each color.

Fishing Cake

We decorated this cake for our step-dad for his birthday. We thought a fishing themed cake would be perfect since he loves to fish. We baked a chocolate cake so that it would look like dirt when it was cut. To make the grass we simply used a grass tip.

Rainbow Cake

Rainbow cakes are one of our favorite cakes to make because the inside is a surprise when the cake is cut.

 This is the outside of the cake we made for our Grandpa's birthday. We used buttercream frosting and decorated the cake with a basket weave.

       When my Grandpa cut the cake this is what he saw. He was so surprised and thought it was super cool!

                                  We decorated this cake for our brother's seventeenth birthday.

                                                     He loved the inside when he saw it!
There are so many different ways to decorate a rainbow cake. They are very versatile. They can be decorated fancy for a more formal party or the rainbow theme can be transferred to the decorating as well.
